Each pin creator have their own way of grading their pins. It's different for each person and there isn't really a standardize way. For my pin grading I use the term "Standard" and "Flawed". Some may use "A-grade""B-grade" or "C-grade"
Some of the types of flaws you'll see on a "Standard" pins will be stuff from the "Standard Too" image too. Not very noticeable at normal view.
I do have a grades worse than "Flawed" but I usually want the buyer to see the bad flaws that it have before buying.

Standard

What I consider my best of the pin batch. Usually couple of slight flaws.

  • Slight flaws. Not very noticeable at normal view.
  • Some scuffs or scratches
  • Small specks and dust
  • Colors may look different in person

Flawed

Not as good as standards but good enough. Usually has a bunch of these.

  • Noticeable flaws
  • Low/overfilled or bubbling in the enamel
  • Wrong color
  • Deep scratches or dents
  • Heavy oxidation
  • Over polished metal
